The Box Short Film

In our music video groups we were given the challenge to make a short film in one day using the object of a box. In the morning we had three different ideas for the making of the short film which we struggled to choose which one we would like to do. After choosing which idea we were gonna do we then decided on where our location was gonna be after walking around the whole of college with the idea of using a hall way we changed the location to the green room where our idea soon changed as well.

Me and Tom were casted in this movie whilst Paige was working with the props and João was the director of the short film.

In was all basically a rush to do in a few hours since people had to go for English and math class and it also didn't really connect to the music for our music video like we wanted to try and do but it came together pretty well enough to be a good short film.. We shot in under a hour and half and then edited in 3 hours.

What could have gone better about this film challenge is I wish we quickly moved on from finding the idea to working straight on the film because we spent to much time thinking to deep into the film using all these after effect techniques.

The first idea we had for the short film was to have two people, one of them finds the box on the floor to then empty out all of the mess in the box to then jump into the box as it looks like another dimension but then we soon decided to use two people having a conversation where as one person could see a box and the other could see a radio beside them. I would say this is a very funny comedy short film and to make it cinematic if I were to have more time to edit then I would use more action shots and camera angles with lots of sound effects added whilst editing.
