Production Research

Researching is a very important part because it helps to understand how my video will plan out from identifying some of the things n my project from other people’s sources. Everything you research goes into all you do for your project like what production is needed, who the targeted audience is etc. Primary research is new being able to answer specific issues or questions which can involve questionnaires, survey’s or interviews with a group or just an individual. Secondary research is making use of the information that has already been researched in primary research for the use of other purposes available.

The benefits of production research is that you know who your target audience is and how they are. Being able to develop the advert according to characteristics of the audience. Providing additional content and gaining more information which can also help towards Pre-Post Production. You’ll always have a wide range of audience to see the advertisement which would help the public notice the product but there is a disadvantages which include your advert to be too like every other advert people would feel they get tired of seeing the same thing over and over like a repetitive advert.

Researchers can find out what locations are available to be used, the cost for it and finding out what would work out best for the whole production. You would need to makes sure the whole crew have the right skills for getting support from companies to help finance to improve the income. They would also help stay with a set schedule so that you would be finished in a good time since some advertisements would be popular at certain times for example get it finished by Christmas because that month gets a lot of advertisements out. Copyright could be a tricky because it’s not just the music it can come across from logos being close to the original. If the company was to not follow then it is against the law and a fine would have to be paid as well

.

Gaining the knowledge of how much everything is going to cost and where to get resources from it’s a very good advantage. A disadvantage could be resources that aren’t reliable which could affect the deadline date which myself has had to go through since being the first project to have to do in this course I have learnt to understand you should always research everything before you start production.

In conclusion to all this research that goes into one project it shows how much of an important the pre-production process is because it gives me the knowledge that need to be known whilst the advert is in production. This gives me a better understanding to how much work goes into all the pre-production of an advert and helps me improve on future projects that I will begin to work on and also add onto my final advert.
